1

Do you like going to the beach?

Yes, I absolutely love it. There is something really calming about listening to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore. Whenever I need to unwind and escape the hustle and bustle of the city, heading down to the coast is always my first choice.

2

How often do you visit a beach?

Not as often as I would like, to be honest. Since I live quite far inland, it takes at least a couple of hours by train to reach the nearest seaside town. So, I probably only manage to go three or four times a year, usually during summer bank holidays.

3

What do you usually do when you go to the beach?

I am not really one for sunbathing, so I prefer strolling along the promenade or having a paddle in the sea if the water is not freezing. I also love grabbing a bag of fish and chips and sitting on the sand to watch the sunset.

4

Did you go to the beach much when you were a child?

Yes, heaps. Every August, my parents used to rent a little holiday cottage near the coast in Cornwall. My brother and I would spend entire days building sandcastles, exploring rock pools, and collecting seashells until the tide came in.

5

Would you like to live near a beach in the future?

Definitely, I think it would be amazing. Waking up to sea views and breathing in fresh coastal air every morning sounds ideal. Though, I suppose the downside might be dealing with crowds of tourists during peak season.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
