1

Did you enjoy fairy tales when you were a child?

Yes, I absolutely loved them. My grandmother used to read to me before bed every single night, and I was completely fascinated by the magical worlds, especially stories involving brave knights and talking animals. It really sparked my imagination back then.

2

What was your favourite fairy tale growing up?

I'd say it was definitely Cinderella. I remember having a beautifully illustrated picture book of it that I took everywhere with me. I think I just loved the classic happy ending where good triumphs over evil, even though it's quite predictable.

3

Do people still read traditional fairy tales in your country?

Yes, they do, although animated films and modern digital storybooks are probably more popular nowadays. Still, parents often buy classic story collections for their toddlers, so traditional folklore and cautionary tales definitely haven't disappeared completely.

4

Do you think fairy tales are only suitable for young children?

Not necessarily, no. While they're obviously aimed at kids, many original folk stories actually contain quite dark themes and moral lessons that resonate with adults too. Plus, plenty of modern fantasy novels for grown-ups are loosely based on classic fairy tale plots.

5

Would you ever write a fairy tale yourself?

I don't think so, to be honest. Coming up with an original plot that also teaches a meaningful lesson sounds pretty challenging. I'm much better at reading stories than actually inventing them, so I'll leave the writing to the experts.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
