1

Have you ever travelled on a ferry?

Yes, a handful of times, actually. The last time was a couple of years ago when my family and I took a ferry across to an island for a weekend break. I remember standing on the deck to catch the sea breeze, which was lovely.

2

Do you prefer travelling by ferry or by train?

It depends on the distance, really. Trains are generally much quicker and more convenient for daily commutes. However, ferries offer a much more scenic and relaxing journey, especially on a sunny afternoon when you just want to take your time.

3

Is travelling by ferry popular in your country?

Not particularly across the whole country, because most major cities are well connected by rail and motorways. That said, in coastal areas and around river crossings, commuter ferries are quite busy during the morning rush hour.

4

What do you like to do while on board a ferry?

I usually just wander out onto the open deck and take in the view. If it's a bit chilly or windy outside, I'll grab a hot coffee from the cafeteria and read a book until we dock.

5

Would you like to take a long ferry journey in the future?

Definitely, I'd love to try an overnight crossing somewhere in northern Europe. Sleeping in a cabin and waking up in a completely different country sounds like a fantastic way to travel without the hassle of airports.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
