1

Do you wear spectacles?

Yes, I do actually. I'm slightly short-sighted, so I have to put them on whenever I'm working at my laptop or driving. I've had the same tortoiseshell pair for about three years now, and they've held up remarkably well.

2

Have you ever bought spectacles online?

No, I haven't dared to yet. I prefer popping into an optician's in town because I need to try frames on to see if they suit my face shape. Plus, getting the prescription properly adjusted in person just gives me peace of mind.

3

Do you prefer wearing spectacles or contact lenses?

I'd definitely choose spectacles. To be honest, I've tried contact lenses a couple of times, but I found them quite fiddly to put in and take out. Glasses are just so much more convenient to slip on in the morning.

4

Did you wear spectacles when you were a child?

No, not at all. My eyesight was actually pretty sharp growing up, so I didn't need them back then. It was only during my final year at university, after staring at screens for hours on end, that my vision started to deteriorate.

5

Do you think people wear spectacles as a fashion accessory nowadays?

Definitely, yes. A lot of people I know wear non-prescription frames purely to complete an outfit or look a bit more sophisticated. It's become quite trendy, especially with oversized retro styles coming back into fashion.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
