BandLadder brings PTE question practice, AI feedback, mocks and study resources into one self-paced platform. This guide explains how to use those features to build a repeatable study routine, what you can try free and what to check before buying.
Reviewed 20 September 2026. Published by BandLadder. This is our own product guide, not an independent ranking. Choose your exam and try a relevant task before deciding whether the platform fits your needs.
Choose PTE Academic or PTE Core
BandLadder supports both versions. Start from PTE Academic or PTE Core, based on the test you actually need. Keep that selection when you register and practise. Academic and Core have different task mixes: Academic includes essays and Summarize Group Discussion, while Core includes email writing.
For the authoritative task descriptions, consult Pearson's Academic or Core format guide. Practice content should prepare you for that version rather than a generic “PTE” label.
25k+ questions, with a purpose for each attempt
The 25k+ PTE question library provides material across Academic and Core. The wider platform also has a separate 30k+ IELTS question library. Counts describe the overall libraries, not the number of questions in every individual exam or free account.
Use question practice to isolate a weakness, sectional practice to work on pacing and full mocks to rehearse a longer session. Study material and prediction resources provide additional preparation. Predictions are useful as practice prompts; they are not guaranteed future exam content.
Use AI scoring to choose the next improvement
Speaking and Writing AI feedback can help you review a response and identify what to work on. Check the comments against your own recording or text and the question. Make one specific revision, then attempt something unfamiliar to see whether the skill transfers.
For example, “improve content” becomes actionable when you find that you omitted the main comparison in an image or the requested action in an email. A score alone does not explain the next step. BandLadder's AI results are practice estimates, not official Pearson scores or a guarantee of your result.
Try this original planning exercise
A Core-style email asks you to report a missing library book, explain when you last had it and ask what to do next. Your draft says only, “My book is lost. Please help.” What needs adding before submission?
Reveal the next revision
Identify the book or loan, explain when and where you last remember having it, and ask for the replacement or reporting procedure. For example: “I last used the book in the study room on Tuesday evening. Could you please explain how I should report the loss and whether a replacement fee applies?” Add only details that fit the prompt; this is a planning example, not a full scored response.
What can you try free?
The standard free PTE question-practice allowance is five Speaking and two Writing AI evaluations each day, resetting at midnight India time. No card is required and these daily allowances do not expire. Promotional trial access may differ. This allowance is separate from full-mock entitlement; it does not mean every full test is freely available.
Start with one relevant task, inspect the feedback and decide whether you understand the suggested improvement. Our free PTE preparation guide gives you a short routine that combines official resources with practice.
What does a paid plan add?
Paid self-paced plans provide access for a selected duration, including unlimited practice and AI evaluations within the plan, full mocks, sectional tests, study material and prediction resources. The plan is for the selected exam; one active exam subscription is supported per account. Compare Academic plans and Core plans for current prices, duration and scope.
The current platform subscription is self-paced. Do not infer dedicated mentoring, scheduled live lessons or exam-booking benefits from a duration choice. If a separately advertised coaching or booking offer interests you, get its current inclusions confirmed before purchasing it.
Build a weekly routine from feedback
- Choose one weak task and attempt an example without memorising a model response.
- Review the question, your answer and the feedback together.
- Practise one correction, then test it on a new question.
- Use a section or mock to check pacing after targeted practice.
- Write down the next week's priority from recurring errors, not just the highest score.
For alternatives, see the PTE platform comparison. For a practical way to judge recording, feedback and purchase terms, use the trial checklist. Continue into the correct Writing bank below, choose a task and use the feedback to make your next attempt better.
