ASU's Duolingo rules

A few days after the test, Duolingo sends a verification email with a link to send your score to ASU. The DET must have been taken no more than two years before your ASU start date; older scores may mean you have to send new results or prove English another way. The pages give no Duolingo subscore minimums.

For comparison, the undergraduate page sets IELTS at 6.0 overall (6.5 for nursing and higher-requirement engineering, 7.0 for higher-requirement Cronkite programmes), and the graduate page sets 6.5.

If your Duolingo score is below ASU's level

ASU accepts completion of its Global Launch English programmes instead of a test score. Undergraduates can complete the Global Launch English Language programme or the online English for Undergraduate Admission and Achievement course; at graduate level, select schools accept Global Launch Online or Campus Immersion, or the English for Graduate Admission and Achievement course. Completion must be no more than two years old at your start date.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your ASU programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
