ACC English test scores
From ACC's English proficiency requirements page. There is no institutional code for IELTS; ask for your official score to be sent to the International Student Office at the Highland Business Center address on the page. The ACC TOEFL code is 6759.

Exemptions
You are exempt if your home country is on ACC's list of native English-speaking countries. The list includes the UK, Ireland, Canada (except Quebec), Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, Guyana, Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Liberia, Sierra Leone and the Gambia. India, Pakistan and Bangladesh are not on it.
You may also be exempt with a US associate degree or higher, a C or better in a course equivalent to ACC's ENGL-1301, or US high school attendance plus a college-level result on the Texas Success Initiative (TSI), for example SAT Evidence-based Reading and Writing 500 or ACT English 21. F-1 students must discuss the TSI route with the International Student Office.

Other visa types and how to check
Applicants on A, E, G, H, I, K, L, O, R, TD, TN, U or V visas do not have to take TOEFL or IELTS. F-1 students co-enrolling at ACC while attending another university are also exempt.
Requirements and placement levels change between terms. The score that binds you is the one on Austin Community College's international admissions page and in your admission letter, so check it there before you book a test.
Minimum vs competitive score
Where Austin Community College publishes an IELTS score, it is the minimum: the floor an application has to meet to be considered, not a score that guarantees an offer.
Competitive programmes, and courses with far more applicants than places, may expect more than the minimum, and some departments set their own overall or per-skill scores, often for writing or speaking. The course page has the final word, so check it before you book a test.
