What PTE score do you need for AUT?

Both pages carry the same footnote: IELTS Academic Online and PTE Academic Online are not accepted, so book a test-centre PTE Academic. You must meet the requirement in a single sitting, and results are valid for two years from the date on the certificate to the time you apply to AUT. The pages do not give a Pearson institution code.

Pearson's own PTE Core FAQ describes PTE Core as a general English test that is initially suitable only for work and migration routes to Canada, and says PTE Academic is the test accepted for university study.

For comparison, the same pages set IELTS Academic at 6.0 with all bands 5.5 or higher for bachelor's degrees and 6.5 with all bands 6.0 or higher for master's degrees.

AUT accepts its own AUT Academic English (AUT AE) course instead of a test: B overall with all skills C+ or higher for bachelor's degrees, and B+ overall with all skills B or higher for master's degrees. Some AUT programmes do not accept AUT AE for entry.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your AUT programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
