Test rules and how PTE compares
The guide does not say whether PTE Academic Online or PTE Core counts, how old a score can be or how to send it, so ask BYU admissions before you book.
On the same table, IELTS Academic is 6.5 overall with 6 in reading, writing and listening and 6.5 in speaking, and TOEFL iBT is 80 with 20 in each section. PTE is the only test on the list with the same floor for every skill as for the overall score.

The guide's advice is to improve your English and retest. It does not describe conditional admission or an English pathway for applicants below the minimum.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your BYU programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
