What TOEFL score do you need for Clemson University?

Graduate scores must be sent electronically by ETS; Clemson does not accept unofficial reports or reports sent by applicants. If you retake and score higher, send the new score through ETS, and all official scores on file are visible to the committee. Graduate scores are valid for up to two years from the test date. Meeting the minimum does not guarantee admission.

For comparison, the undergraduate page sets IELTS at 6.5 with 6.0 in each sub-score, and the graduate page sets IELTS at 6.5.

Some graduate programmes offer Conditional Language Admission to students who complete an approved ESL programme, such as Agape English Language Institute Level 6 in Greenville or Columbia, or ELS Language Centers Level 112 at any location. Transfer undergraduates with English Composition I and II at B or better from an accredited US institution are exempt from the test.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Clemson programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
