What TOEFL score do you need for Creighton University?

Creighton University's undergraduate catalog sets unconditional admission at a TOEFL score of 88 or above, with no section below 20. How Creighton handles TOEFL scores

The catalog gives the levels on the 0 to 120 scale only and does not state a code, score validity window, MyBest or Home Edition policy.

TOEFL iBT score reports issued since January 2026 also carry a 1 to 6 band score alongside the 0 to 120 total; see our guide to the new TOEFL score scale. Where a page above gives only a 0 to 120 figure, that is the figure this guide reports.

For comparison, the same catalog page sets unconditional IELTS at 6.5 overall with no section below 6.0.

If your TOEFL score is below Creighton's level

Eligible students who have not reached English proficiency may be provisionally admitted if they enrol in IELI until they reach the required level. Completing IELI or another accredited English programme can be used for Bridge eligibility, and in some cases for unconditional admission with additional documentation. The tests may be waived after two years of high school (freshmen) or one year of college coursework (transfers), or schooling in a listed programme or country.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Creighton programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
