What PTE score do you need for CUHK-Shenzhen?

The page states plainly that CUHK-Shenzhen does not accept PTE Academic Online. It does not mention PTE Core, does not set a maximum score age for PTE, and gives no Pearson sending instructions, so send the score through your Pearson account and keep the score report to upload with your application.

Timing is flexible for 2027 entry: if you apply in the Early Bird or Regular Round without a qualifying English result, you can still submit the application and upload the result later, before 28 May 2027.

On the same page, IELTS needs 6.5 (One Skill Retake accepted) and TOEFL iBT needs 80 out of 120 or 4.5 out of 6. The page adds that it strongly recommends IELTS or TOEFL iBT to applicants who have no other accepted English certificate, although PTE remains on the accepted list.

The page accepts several school results instead of a test, including IBDP English HL or SL at 4, GCE A or AS Level English at C, and Indian Central or State Board Grade 12 English at 80%. You do not need to prove English if you are from, or hold a high-school-equivalent qualification from, a listed country such as the UK, USA, Canada, Ireland or New Zealand. No conditional offer or pathway with a PTE entry point is described.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your CUHK-Shenzhen programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
