What Duolingo score do you need for Eastern Illinois University?

The FAQ confirms EIU accepts Duolingo as proof of English proficiency at 105. English can be waived after 24 semester hours at a US college, ELS Level 112 with a Certificate of Proficiency (graduate), or two consecutive years of study in a listed English-speaking country within the past two years.

The pages give no Duolingo subscores, validity period or teaching assistant English rule. The FAQ says graduate assistantships are available and links to the application.

For comparison, the undergraduate page sets IELTS at 6.0 and the graduate page sets IELTS at 6.5, both on the Academic module.

The conditional admission page says undergraduates who meet every requirement except English may be offered conditional admission, granted by the Office of International Students and Scholars. Graduates can get conditional admission in selected programmes, such as the MBA, Biological Sciences, Economics, Mathematics and Technology, granted by the Graduate School. Full admission follows proof of English proficiency. The FAQ adds that applicants planning US ESL training can receive conditional admission for the following semester or year.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your EIU programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
