What IELTS score do you need for Eastern Illinois University?

Graduate applicants need IELTS 6.5 Academic, TOEFL iBT 79 (550 paper-based), Duolingo 105, MELAB 77, STEP EIKEN Grade 1 or iTEP Academic Plus 5.0, with a GPA of at least 2.75 out of 4.0. See EIU graduate requirements.

The test is waived after 24 semester hours at a US college or university, ELS level 112 with a Certificate of Proficiency, two consecutive years of study within the past two years in a country where English is the primary language and medium of instruction, Graduate Student English (Level 7) at SIU Carbondale's CESL, Kaplan's Proficiency Level certificate or The Language Company's Advanced Proficiency Level. The country list includes Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Singapore, the Philippines and the UK, but not India, Pakistan, Nepal or Bangladesh.

Graduate applicants who meet every requirement except English can be offered conditional admission in selected programs: Art, Biological Sciences, Business Administration (MBA), Communication Studies, Economics, Family and Consumer Sciences, History, Kinesiology and Sports Studies, Mathematics, Music, Political Science, the Professional Science Master's in Geographic Information Sciences, Technology and Sustainable Energy.
