What IELTS score do you need for Western Illinois University?

Unless the department sets more, graduate applicants need TOEFL 73 (or 4.0 on the new scale), IELTS 6.0, iTEP 3.7, PTE Academic 49, TOEFL Essentials 8.0 or Duolingo 105. The program table on the language proficiency page sets higher scores for Accountancy, Business Administration, English, Museum Studies and Music. The admission requirements page names TOEFL, IELTS, iTEP and PTE but not Duolingo, while the proficiency page lists Duolingo; confirm with Graduate Studies if you plan to use it.

You are exempt with a US bachelor's degree earned with four years in residence within two years of starting at WIU, or after a year of full-time graduate study (18 semester hours or more) at a US institution immediately before WIU. Graduate admission also needs a GPA of at least 2.75 overall, or 3.0 for the last two years.

Applicants from listed countries are exempt, including Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, the Philippines, the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. India, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh are not on the list.
