Ferris State Duolingo minimums by level
From Ferris State's English proficiency policies.
| Level or programme | Duolingo minimum | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Undergraduate | 105 or better | SAT, ACT and ELS routes also accepted |
| Graduate | 105 | SAT, ACT and ELS routes are undergraduate only |
How Ferris State handles Duolingo scores
Students can ask the testing organisation to deliver an official score report to Ferris State. Ferris reserves the right to require an extra English placement test on arrival if your English does not appear to match the submitted score.
The policy does not state a Duolingo validity period or subscore rule.
For comparison, the same policy sets IELTS at 6.5 for both levels.

If your Duolingo score is below Ferris State's level
The policy does not describe conditional admission. Undergraduates can instead use SAT reading and writing 510, ACT reading 19, ELS Level 112 with C or better, or IB and A-level routes listed on the page.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Ferris State programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
