What Duolingo score do you need for Florida Tech?

The English proficiency page says test scores must be sent directly from the testing agency to count as official. You can be admitted before submitting proof of English, but proof is needed before immigration documents are issued or you enrol.

The assistantship guideline sets a higher bar for teaching: Duolingo 120 or IELTS 7.0, plus a passing score on the International Proficiency Speaking Assessment (IPSA) for every teaching assistant whose home language is not English.

Compared with IELTS: admission is IELTS 6.5 or Duolingo 105, and a teaching assistantship IELTS 7.0 or Duolingo 120.

The English proficiency page lists other routes, such as a score of four or higher on IB Higher Level English A or AP English Language and Composition. The guideline says assistantship eligibility exceptions are considered case by case with the Provost's approval.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Florida Tech programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
