How do I send my PTE score to Immigration New Zealand?

Pearson gives two routes. If you ticked the box to allocate scores to Immigration New Zealand (INZ) when booking, the score is sent automatically. If not, include the Test Registration ID of the result in your visa application. Take PTE Academic: Pearson says it is approved for all New Zealand student visa and migration applications, while PTE Core is not meant for New Zealand.

Allocating at booking or quoting the Registration ID

Pearson's scoring help treats INZ the same way as Australia's Department of Home Affairs: scores allocated at booking go automatically, and otherwise you quote the Test Registration ID when you lodge your application.

If you allocated scores at booking and did not get the score you needed, Pearson says INZ cannot review those scores unless you have already submitted your application.

Which PTE test to take for New Zealand

Pearson's PTE Academic FAQ says PTE Academic is approved by the Australian and New Zealand governments for all student visa and migration applications.

Its PTE Core FAQ tells you to choose PTE Academic if you plan to work in or migrate to Australia, New Zealand or the UK. PTE Core is aimed at Canadian permanent residence and citizenship.

Validity and finding your Registration ID

A PTE Score Report is valid for two years from the test date. After that you can no longer access it, and Pearson says scores should be assigned within two years of the test (scoring help).

The Registration ID is a 9-digit number under your name on the Score Report (Pearson). Check the score and validity rules for your visa with INZ before you book.
