Test rules and how PTE compares with IELTS
Neither page states a validity period for PTE, a rule on PTE Academic Online, combining sittings or a Pearson institution code.
ICMS does not list PTE Core. Pearson's PTE Core FAQ says PTE Core is initially only suitable for work and migration visa routes to Canada and that PTE Academic is the test accepted for university study.
For comparison, the same tables set IELTS Academic 6.0 with 5.5 in each band for bachelor's degrees and 6.5 with 6.0 in each band for master's degrees.

If your PTE score falls short
ICMS points applicants who do not meet the academic or English requirements to pathway options through the Aspire Institute. A satisfactory score on the Aspire Institute English Placement Test also counts: APT-B1 for bachelor's degrees and APT-A1 for master's degrees.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your ICMS programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
