Where can I take IELTS or PTE in Thimphu?

Pearson's test centre list for Bhutan named two centres on 29 October 2026: Royal Institute Of Management in Thimphu and Norbuling PTE Centre in Paro. Pearson's Bhutan price list showed PTE Academic and PTE Core only, with no PTE Academic UKVI or PTE Home tests.

IELTS prices are the ones shown next to each Thimphu session in the providers' booking systems on 29 and 30 October 2026. PTE prices are from Pearson's price finder with Bhutan selected; Pearson charges in US dollars, so the amount debited depends on your bank's exchange rate and charges. The IELTS fee is the one on the ielts.org centre page, which says prices may vary and may be subject to local tax.

IELTS with the British Council: open its booking system, choose Bhutan, the test and the city, and pick a session; the search shows the venue, date, time and price before you pay. Its finder says IELTS on computer results arrive in 1 to 5 days. IELTS with IDP: book from IDP's city page, where each session shows the venue, the Writing format, the fee and "Results in 1 to 5 days". Bring the same identity document you registered with.

PTE: book in myPTE (Pearson's booking guide). Pearson's ID policy asks for a valid passport in most countries, and the name and date of birth on your booking must match it exactly. Every attempt costs the full fee, so take a free IELTS mock test or a free PTE mock test first.
