Same sitting, super-scoring and other tests
All components must be attempted at the same sitting; if you miss one minimum, you sit all components again. The PSI does not accept one-skill retakes. Super-scoring is allowed for two examinations of the same format taken within six months: each sitting must meet the base score per component and overall, and across the two you must reach the minimum scores.
The PSI also accepts TOEFL iBT (speaking 25, writing 21, reading 24, listening 22, total 95), the Cambridge C1 exam (180 in each paper, C1 overall) and OET Pharmacy (350 in listening, reading and speaking, 300 in writing). Home-based tests are not accepted. Other tests may be considered if shown to be equivalent to CEFR C1, which adds processing time. You must give the PSI verification access to your results.

You meet the requirement without a test if you trained as a pharmacist in a country where English or Irish is recognised as the native and first language. From 1 June 2026 the PSI no longer accepts a university letter saying the course was taught in English as proof.
You can also rely on having lived and practised whole-time as a registered pharmacist for three of the preceding five years in such a country, with independent evidence. The PSI says no exceptions are made to these criteria. Regulators change these rules, sometimes at short notice. Confirm the current scores on the PSI page before you book a test.
