What Duolingo score do you need for Indiana University Northwest?

Duolingo appears in the same table as TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, EIKEN and several school-leaving exams. The page says exceptions to these standards may be made case by case. It states no Duolingo validity period or subscore rule.

Students from a US high school, or who have completed the equivalent of ENG-W 131, are exempt from the proficiency documentation and from further English placement testing.

For comparison, the same admissions page sets IELTS at 6.0 for undergraduates and 6.5 for graduate applicants.

The page lists successful completion of an ESL programme at a regionally accredited US institution as another way to document proficiency. It does not describe conditional admission.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your IU Northwest programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
