Waivers
The catalogue lists waivers for four full years at a US high school, four full years at an international institution where English is the principal language of instruction, an SAT Reading subscore of at least 27, ACT English and Reading scores of at least 20, or a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college. It adds that some schools or programmes within IWU may require a higher score.

The Bridge Program
Students with IELTS 5.5 (or TOEFL 54-65) complete two semesters of the Bridge English programme, and students with IELTS 6.0 (or TOEFL 66-78) complete one semester. The Program Director makes the final decision on eligibility and placement before recommending a student for admission.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admission cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your IWU programme page and in your admission letter, so check it there before you book a test.
Minimum vs competitive score
Where Indiana Wesleyan University publishes an IELTS score, it is the minimum: the floor an application has to meet to be considered, not a score that guarantees an offer.
Competitive programmes, and courses with far more applicants than places, may expect more than the minimum, and some departments set their own overall or per-skill scores, often for writing or speaking. The course page has the final word, so check it before you book a test.
