What PTE score do you need for Maynooth University?

The page says the English certificate must have been issued within two years of the expected start date of your Maynooth programme, and that requirements are revised annually. It lists the Pearson Test of English without a note on online testing or a Pearson institution code. It does say the IELTS single retake module and the TOEFL Home Edition are not accepted.

Pearson's own PTE Core FAQ describes PTE Core as a general English test that is initially suitable only for work and migration routes to Canada, and says PTE Academic is the test accepted for university study.

For comparison, the same table asks IELTS Academic 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in each band at both levels.

The page does not list a Maynooth pre-sessional route. It says students who completed a full bachelor's degree taught in English in Ireland, the UK, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Ghana or Canada may be exempt, though you may still need an English certificate for an Irish visa.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Maynooth programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
