What TOEFL score do you need for the Michener Institute?

Michener accepts only the TOEFL iBT and TOEFL Home Edition. All scores must be achieved on one test date, and TOEFL MyBest scores are not accepted. Test results are valid for two years. Michener's designated institution code is 0323.

This page gives TOEFL iBT minimums on the 0 to 120 scale only. TOEFL iBT score reports issued since January 2026 also carry a 1 to 6 band score; see how the new TOEFL score scale works.

For comparison, the same page sets Academic IELTS at 6.5 overall with all bands at 6 or above, also from a single test date.

The page offers no conditional or pathway route. Alternatives include MELA with 8 in every component, PTE Academic 65 with no skill under 60, and an exemption for two years of full-time post-secondary study in an English-dominant country. Registered or licensed Canadian health care providers are exempt, except for the Bridging Programs.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Michener programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
