Three-year time limit and other rules
If you have not completed six years of schooling at an English-medium institution in an English-speaking country before age 19, your English evidence must be completed within three years before the course start date. You may get an extension if you have lived and worked in Australia since. If you have several results inside the time limit, Monash accepts the highest.
These are minimums; some courses set higher requirements, shown in each course's Entry Requirements section. Monash publishes no separate undergraduate and postgraduate scale on this page. Duolingo is not listed, though the page says other tests may be accepted and are assessed when you apply. The AEMG EAP Direct Entry Program is accepted for the 2026 intake only. Monash does not say whether PTE Academic Online is accepted.
International students who miss the test score but meet all other entry requirements can consider Monash English at Monash College.
Requirements vary by course, and Monash can change them between intakes. Always confirm the score on your course page before you book a test. Your student visa has its own English rules, set by the Department of Home Affairs.
