How Montana Tech handles Duolingo scores
Undergraduates from countries other than Australia, Canada, England, Ireland, New Zealand, Scotland and Wales must show English proficiency. The undergraduate page gives no Duolingo validity or subscore rule.
The graduate page heads its English section TOEFL or IELTS, and gives school code 4487 for sending TOEFL scores.

If your Duolingo score is below 100
Undergraduates can also meet the requirement by completing ELS Level 112, Kaplan's Higher Intermediate Level, English Language Centres Level 11 or EF C1-1, or with a recommendation from the UM English Language Institute.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Montana Tech programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
