Degree taught in English
Leoben accepts at least two years of higher education with English as the language of instruction at a recognised domestic or foreign institution, provided English is stated as the language of instruction in the Diploma Supplement, transcript or degree certificate. Unlike several Austrian universities, it does not limit this to particular countries, so an English-medium bachelor's from India or Nigeria can qualify if the documents say so.
A school-leaving exam in English also counts where that country's rules set it at B2 or above.

Certificate age, joint programmes and preparation
Test certificates cannot be older than two years at the time of submission. Leoben warns that joint programmes taught in English may set stricter requirements in their own curricula.
With English at A2 or above you can join Leoben's University Preparation Programme and take the required courses and exam there.

Minimum vs competitive score
Where Montanuniversität Leoben (University of Leoben) publishes an IELTS score, it is the minimum: the floor an application has to meet to be considered, not a score that guarantees an offer.
Competitive programmes, and courses with far more applicants than places, may expect more than the minimum, and some departments set their own overall or per-skill scores, often for writing or speaking. The course page has the final word, so check it before you book a test.
