What PTE score do you need for NC State?

Official PTE scores must come directly from the testing agency. The undergraduate page gives two ways: give NC State your 10-character Score Report Code so the university can retrieve the score from Pearson, or log in to myPTE, open My Activity, choose Send Scores and select the institution. The page describes PTE Academic as taken in a test centre and does not mention PTE Academic Online, PTE Core or a validity period.

For comparison, the same page asks IELTS Academic 6.5 with at least 6.0 in each sub-score.

Applicants who meet the competitive academic requirements but not the English minimum may be considered for conditional admission through the NC State Intensive English Program, which builds English skills before the degree starts. Successful completion of Level 6 is listed as a route to full admission.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your NC State programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
