What PTE score do you need for NJIT?

New Jersey Institute of Technology asks for PTE 53 for undergraduate admission and PTE Academic 57 for graduate programmes. Graduate scores are valid for two years from the test date, and NJIT does not accept medium of instruction letters in place of a test. Graduate applicants can upload unofficial documents to apply and send official score reports if they enrol.

Test rules and how to send your score

The graduate page says test scores are valid for two years from the test date. Uploaded documents are enough for an admission decision; if you enrol, the testing agency must send official score reports directly to NJIT, or you cannot register for your second semester. The pages do not mention PTE Academic Online or PTE Core.

On the same pages, IELTS needs 6.0 for undergraduates and IELTS Academic 6.5 for graduate study, with Duolingo 100 and 120 respectively.

If you fall short

NJIT does not publish a conditional admission or pathway route on these pages. You may be exempt from the test with a degree from one of the listed countries or an in-person US degree or diploma, but NJIT says medium of instruction letters do not meet the requirement.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your NJIT programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
