Northern Kentucky University asks undergraduates for a Pearson PTE composite of at least 55 for full admission without restrictions. Test rules and how to send your score

PTE Academic is on the list of tests for both first-year and transfer undergraduates. The page gives TOEFL and SAT school codes but no Pearson code, and it does not mention PTE Academic Online, PTE Core or a validity period. Certain degrees are selective programmes with higher standards.

On the same page, IELTS is 6.5 with 5.5 reading and 5 writing for full admission, and 5.5 with 5 in reading and writing with restrictions. The graduate page lists TOEFL iBT 79 and IELTS 6.5.

If you fall short

If you are admitted with restrictions, you must take a college placement test in each weak area before you can register for classes. If you do not meet the English requirement at all, NKU may offer conditional admission to a degree programme pending completion of its American English Language Program.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your NKU programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
