What IELTS score do you need for Old Dominion University?

Conditional admission is offered only to highly qualified applicants who meet every requirement except English, subject to program approval, and may not be available for all programs. Admitted students are offered intensive English study at the English Language Center: IEP below the MET range, or the MET Program, which mixes academic and English courses. Graduate students complete MET with a B and 85% attendance in each ELC class and a 3.00 GPA. See English proficiency.

Other routes include GRE Verbal Reasoning, listed at 150 on the proficiency page and 152 in the graduate catalog, or two college-level English courses at a US institution with a C or better. A bachelor's or master's from an accredited institution in a country where English is the official language also counts; ODU lists no countries and does not say whether India qualifies, so confirm with International Admissions. ODU applies the same scores to all levels of study: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 4.5 (79), PTE 53 or Duolingo 120. Undergraduates can also use SAT critical reading 480 or a GCSE or GCE O-level pass in English.
