Test rules and how to send your score

Undergraduate scores must come from a test taken within two years of the intended starting term; the page gives the example that tests taken on or after August 2025 count for Fall 2027. Graduate scores must be valid within two years of the starting term's priority deadline. Scores go directly from the testing agency, and Pratt's school code is 2669. Neither page mentions PTE Academic Online or PTE Core.

IELTS Academic is 7.0 for undergraduates on the same page, alongside PTE 62. At graduate level, PTE 53 and 57 sit next to IELTS 6.5, PTE 59 next to IELTS 7.0, and PTE 68 next to IELTS 7.5.

If you fall short

Undergraduates can request a waiver after three years of high school in the US, in a country where English is an official language and the language of instruction, or at a US-accredited or English-speaking IB World school abroad. ESL programmes or certificates are not accepted. Graduate waivers cover recent US or English-medium degrees, and a department can waive the test after an interview. Neither page offers conditional admission.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Pratt programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
