What PTE Core score do I need for the Federal Skilled Trades Program?

You need CLB 5 in speaking and listening and CLB 4 in reading and writing. On PTE Core that is at least speaking 51, listening 39, reading 33 and writing 41. That is the lowest language bar in Express Entry, but a trade certificate earns extra CRS points only once all four skills reach CLB 5, and the full 50 at CLB 7.

Why the minimum may not be your target

At the bare FST minimum your reading and writing sit at CLB 4, so the certificate combination earns nothing. Lifting reading to 42 and writing to 51 (CLB 5) unlocks 25 points; reaching CLB 7 in all four (reading 60, writing 69, listening 60, speaking 68) doubles it to 50.
