Choosing between PTE and IELTS by city
In Istanbul and Ankara you have a choice of PTE venues, and PTE is the cheaper test at 10,000 TL. In Izmir, Bursa, Antalya and Gaziantep there is no PTE centre on Pearson's list, so IELTS is the local option; see IELTS test centres in Turkey. Erzurum and Van have both.
Compare dates at several venues in myPTE before you pay. Use the free reschedule window (more than 14 days before the test) as your buffer, and test with the passport or ID that matches your myPTE account exactly.

Booking
To book, create a myPTE account, choose the test, pick a centre and a slot at least 24 hours ahead, and pay. Pearson accepts American Express, Discover, Mastercard and Visa, and a voucher or promo code is entered at the payment step (Pearson booking guide). Your account name must match your passport exactly; it can be corrected up to 3 days before the test, never on test day, and a mismatch means no test and no refund.
