GLAP English scores

Rules for scores
Only four-skill test scores are valid, and the test must be taken within two years before the first day of the application period. No band minimums are stated. PTE Academic and Duolingo are not on the list, and the page states no exemption for applicants educated in English.

Check the current intake
The GLAP figures above are for April 2026 entry. We did not find a GLAP-specific figure for 2027 on Rikkyo's site, so confirm the score for your intake on the GLAP admission page before you book a test.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one in the current Rikkyo GLAP application guide for your programme, so check it there before you book a test.
Minimum vs competitive score
Where Rikkyo University publishes an IELTS score, it is the minimum: the floor an application has to meet to be considered, not a score that guarantees an offer.
Competitive programmes, and courses with far more applicants than places, may expect more than the minimum, and some departments set their own overall or per-skill scores, often for writing or speaking. The course page has the final word, so check it before you book a test.
