RSU English scores
From RSU's international how to apply page. It gives one overall IELTS score with no band minimums.
| Programme | IELTS Academic | Other tests |
|---|---|---|
| International students | 5.5 | TOEFL iBT 61 (500 paper, 173 computer), PTE Academic 44, iTEP Academic 3.5 |
Other ways to meet the requirement
You can complete a 12-week Intensive English Program approved by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. The page says lower TOEFL scores (48 iBT or 140 computer-based) can be accepted with this option if it is followed immediately by enrolment at RSU.
Graduates of accredited high schools in listed countries, including the UK, Ireland, Canada (except Quebec), Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Mauritius and many Caribbean countries, are exempt. The page notes that Guyana on the list is not Ghana.

Deadlines and how to check
The international application deadlines are 1 July for fall and 15 November for spring. College transcripts need a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member, and RSU also asks for a passport, I-20 packet and proof of housing.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admission cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your RSU programme page and in your admission letter, so check it there before you book a test.
Minimum vs competitive score
Where Rogers State University publishes an IELTS score, it is the minimum: the floor an application has to meet to be considered, not a score that guarantees an offer.
Competitive programmes, and courses with far more applicants than places, may expect more than the minimum, and some departments set their own overall or per-skill scores, often for writing or speaking. The course page has the final word, so check it before you book a test.
If you are close to the line, aim for a margin above it: one weak skill can miss the requirement even when the overall band clears it. Not sure where you stand? Take a free IELTS mock test and get a band for each skill.
