Test rules and how to send your score
Both admissions pages say all scores must be released to Sac State to count as official, and tell applicants to send them through their English testing portal. They do not mention PTE Academic Online, PTE Core, a validity period or a Pearson code.
The catalog puts IELTS Academic at 6.0 overall for undergraduates and 6.5 for graduates, so PTE 50 sits beside IELTS 6.0 and PTE 65 beside IELTS 6.5.

If you fall short
Undergraduates can meet the requirement without a test by completing Sacramento State ELI Level 7, ELS Language Center Level 112, FLS Language School Level 16, TLC Level 9 or UCLA Extension Level 6. The graduate page lists no such alternative. Applicants from countries where English is the primary language, or who graduated from an English-medium US high school or university, do not need a test.
