What TOEFL score do you need for Santa Clara University?

Unless a school says otherwise, SCU does not accept MyBest scores, the TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition or the TOEFL ITP Plus offered in China; the undergraduate page adds that TOEFL Essentials is not accepted. Scores must come directly from the testing agency, and the policy accepts scores up to two years before the application deadline.

Undergraduates may self-report scores and send an official score later. The engineering graduate FAQ says scores are valid for up to five years, which differs from the university policy, so check with engineering admissions.

For comparison, the same policy page sets IELTS at 6.5 for every degree level.

The SCU pages do not describe conditional admission. Engineering waives the test for a degree earned in the last four years in Australia, Anglophone Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK or the US with English as the sole language of instruction.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Santa Clara programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
