What Duolingo score do you need for SUNY New Paltz?

The graduate page notes that individual departments may require a different score from the general one. A US college degree can replace a test, but if it was earned more than three years before you apply, you must provide TOEFL, IELTS, PTE or DET scores.

The page gives no Duolingo validity period or sending instructions.

For comparison, the same graduate page sets IELTS at 6.0 for CS and EE, 7.0 for MA English and TESOL, and 6.5 for all other programmes.

Applicants admitted with only a marginal level of English must take English instruction and a placement exam on arrival, covering grammar, reading and listening, an oral interview and a writing sample. New Paltz may use your DET score to pre-place you in the highest level of its Pathway Program, and a Haggerty English Language Program certificate also meets the requirement.
