What IELTS score do you need for the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech)?

The guide says the English requirement may be waived if you earned a degree from an institution where English was the sole medium of instruction, and an official letter from the university is required as proof. The guide's other proof options are IELTS and TOEFL only.

Available majors in the guide include Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Geophysics, Biology, Mechanics, Intelligent Manufacturing and Robotics, Materials Science and Engineering, Control Science and Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, Environmental Science and Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Integrated Circuits Science and Engineering, and Management Science and Engineering.

The 2026 guide gave two rounds: 3 November 2025 to 18 January 2026, and 16 February to 1 April 2026. Applicants wanting the Chinese Government Scholarship had to apply in the first round. The guide lists a monthly living stipend of RMB 3,500 for doctoral and RMB 3,000 for master's students under that scholarship, and all admitted international students are evaluated for a scholarship.

Master's and doctoral applicants also need a research plan signed by a potential SUSTech supervisor. This guide covers postgraduate entry only; undergraduate admission is set separately.
