Test rules and how PTE compares with IELTS
PTE and Duolingo scores expire two years from the test date, while TOEFL and IELTS expire after three. Scores must be sent directly from the testing agency to admissions@tarleton.edu, or by notification from the company for Tarleton to download. The page does not mention PTE Academic Online or PTE Core.
On the same table, IELTS is 6, TOEFL iBT 69 (or 3.5 from 21 January 2026) and Duolingo 100, so PTE 50 is Tarleton's equivalent of IELTS 6.

If you fall short
Completing Level 9 at The Language Company meets the requirement, with the transcript emailed to admissions by the company. SAT EBRW 550 or ACT English 21 also count.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Tarleton programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
