What TOEFL score do you need for Thompson Rivers University?

TRU says you must meet or exceed the level on every part of the score to be placed at that level; a good mark in one section will not make up for a weak one. If you do not reach direct entry, TRU recommends its English Placement Test, but it will not place you below the level your scores already show. With a TOEFL score you may choose to enter EAP or academic courses without the placement test. The pages give no institution code or MyBest policy.

For comparison, the English requirements page sets IELTS at 6.5 with no band below 6.0 for undergraduate direct entry.

Undergraduates with lower scores start in EAP at Level 3, 4 or 5, combining English and academic courses at the higher levels. The English Placement Test must be written one week before classes begin. TRU does not accept Duolingo for master's programmes, so graduate applicants need TOEFL, IELTS or another listed test.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your TRU programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
