What TOEFL score do you need for Toronto Metropolitan University?

Official results must be sent directly by ETS using TMU's institution code, 0886. TMU accepts the internet-based TOEFL, including the Home Edition, and says TOEFL MyBest scores and TOEFL Essentials will not be used. For fall 2027 undergraduate entry, the deadline to provide a test score is 1 April 2027. Graduate test scores must be from the last 24 months when TMU receives your application.

For comparison, the undergraduate page sets IELTS Academic at 6.5 for all programmes, and the graduate page sets the general IELTS Academic level at 7.0.

English language pathway programmes at TMU's English Language Institute are open to academically qualified students whose test scores fall short. TMU may also offer a place in a pathway programme if you were not required to test but submit a failing score.
