One Skill Retake, IELTS Online and validity
Undergraduate: TMU states "IELTS One Skill Retake results and IELTS Online (Academic) are accepted" and verifies results through the IELTS Results Service. TOEFL Home Edition is accepted; MyBest and TOEFL Essentials are not. You also need a senior English course equivalent to Ontario Grade 12 U English. A validity period is not stated on the undergraduate page.
Graduate: scores must come from a test taken within 24 months of TMU receiving your application, and TOEFL iBT Home Edition is accepted. Programs may set requirements above these minimums. Graduate band minimums and a graduate position on One Skill Retake are not stated by TMU.

Academically qualified undergraduates whose scores fall short can apply to pathway programs at TMU's English Language Institute. For fall 2027 undergraduate entry, TMU's deadline for a test score is 1 April 2027.
Study permit and PGWP: separate rules
TMU's scores decide admission only. IRCC sets no minimum English score for a study permit; any language condition is written into your letter of acceptance (see IELTS for a Canada study permit). The Post-Graduation Work Permit is a separate test again: university graduates need CLB 7 in all four skills, proved with IELTS General Training, CELPIP-General or PTE Core, not IELTS Academic (see IELTS for the PGWP).
