What IELTS score do you need for Trier University?

Trier's ETM list includes M.Sc. Applied Statistics, Business Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Environmental Sciences, Geoinformatics, Mathematics, Natural Language Processing and Sustainability Management and Economics, and M.A. Anglophone Literatures and Media, Contemporary Human Geography, English Linguistics, European and East Asian Governance and International Economics and Public Policy.

You are exempt if you are a native speaker from Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Ireland, the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or Malta, or if you completed two years of full-time study in an English-taught programme in one of those countries within the past two years. The third exemption, for English at Abitur level, applies only to Germany and Luxembourg.

TOEFL must be sent directly by the test provider as an institutional report (the page gives TOEFL code 9208). A test taker score report is not accepted, and enrolment is not possible without the direct report.

Applications go through the PORTA portal. Non-EU nationals apply from 1 to 31 May for the winter semester and from 15 December to 15 January for the summer semester. Trier strongly recommends a winter start, and says admission is now granted for two semesters. You also pay an evaluation fee, once, however many programmes you add.

Applicants with an Indian bachelor's must also show an APS certificate and a completed four-year bachelor's. A three-year specialised or Honours bachelor's needs at least one further year at master's level, and a three-year B.Sc. or B.A. without specialisation cannot be admitted. The application is not processed if a proof is missing.
