Online tests, exemptions and the visa

For the MSc, TU Delft accepts the TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition or IELTS Online (Academic) only if test centres are temporarily closed or it is unsafe or impossible to travel. The BSc page does not mention online tests.

MSc applicants are exempt if they are nationals of Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK or the USA, or hold a bachelor's degree from one of those countries. A degree from an overseas branch campus of a university from those countries does not count.

On the BSc page, TU Delft tells nationals of the People's Republic of China that they need a Nuffic certificate for visa purposes, which requires IELTS or TOEFL iBT. For everyone else, see IELTS for the Netherlands.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your TU Delft programme page and in your admission decision, so check it there before you book a test.
