TU Ilmenau TOEFL test rules
No certificate is needed if the language of instruction for your programme is English and English is also the official language and language of education in your home country; confirmation of the language of instruction from your school or university is then enough. The pages do not set section minimums or a MyBest rule.
For comparison, the C1 list shows IELTS 7.0 to 8.0 and the B2 list shows IELTS 5.5 to 6.5.

If your TOEFL score is below TU Ilmenau's direct level
A B2 TOEFL score of 72 or more still gets you language-based conditional admission rather than a rejection; direct admission needs the C1 level. The language certificates page is headed as applying from the summer semester 2027.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your TU Ilmenau programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
