What TOEFL score do you need for UCD?

UCD accepts the TOEFL Home Edition. Results must normally have been issued within the last two years; the page's example is that for September 2027 entry, results must date from 1 February 2025 or later. UCD assesses a single sitting only, so every section minimum must be met in the same test as the overall score.

For graduate applicants, the page adds that a degree taken through English or in an English-speaking country may be accepted as proof of proficiency at the discretion of the relevant Governance Board.

On the same page, IELTS Academic is 6.5 overall with at least 6.0 in each band, and IELTS retake scores are not accepted.

UCD lists its own English Language Pathway Programmes as an alternative: its Pre-Sessional and Pre-Masters programmes meet the requirement with an overall grade of C+ and at least C- in all components. The Centre for English and Global Languages runs them.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your UCD programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
