What IELTS score do you need for UCSI University?

Business, Pharmacy and English Language pages say international applicants below the programme's requirement must improve through the English for Tertiary Education (ETE) programme. Placement into its levels depends on your existing English qualification or an English Placement Test.

UCSI says completing ETE, a ten-level course, brings learners to CEFR B2, equivalent to IELTS 5.5. Computer Science instead asks students below the requirement to take Basic English and English Foundation alongside the degree.

The English Language and Communication page says Malaysian and international candidates with O-Level, A-Level, matriculation, foundation or diploma qualifications conducted fully in English can be exempted from IELTS. Programme pages also accept MUET and the ELS Certified Intensive English Programme (level 107 or 108).

Duolingo is not listed on the UCSI programme pages we read, and they do not state how old a test result may be.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your UCSI programme page and in your offer, so check it there before you book a test.
